DEVI School Update

Dear Sahaja Yogis,

Jai Shri Mataji!

The joyful work of establishing the DEVI School continues, we would like to take this opportunity to share our latest updates. For those hearing about the project for the first time, the DEVI School is a new international Sahaj boarding school, for children aged 10 to 16, opening in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Enrolment - Nearly full!

As of today, 38 students have applied for enrolment from several countries, including China, Italy, England, Ukraine, America, Austria and Mexico. As our capacity for the first year is 40 places, enrolment will soon be closed, and further applications will go on the waiting list. Our team will soon begin reviewing all student applications and then offering official admission. We are so grateful that parents are placing their trust at the beginning of this beautiful project. We endeavour to work hard and do all it takes to get the school up and running by September.

Jobs and Volunteers

We have had over 65 applicants from all over the world. So many amazing yogis have come forward. It is very humbling and heartwarming to see this impact of positivity. It makes us feel sure that the school will have very dedicated and profound yogis on board. We have just finished reviewing the long list of applicants and are happy to say we will start the interview process later this week. Once jobs have been allotted, we will make this public on our website. Thanks very much to all who have applied for one job or another at the school.

Donations are reaching us from all over the globe. To date we have raised over $85,000 Canadian dollars. Again we are humbled at how generous yogis are being. We pray that this continues until our target of $250,000 has been met. We have some advocates reaching out in different countries who are giving short DEVI School presentations to their collectives, and organising fundraising events. Recenty we had yogis in Toronto giving such a presentation, and as well some perspective students of the school baked homemade cakes and raised money. It is wonderful to see the school is inspiring yogis, especially yuvas, to be involved. If you would like to help with fundraising, please be imaginative. Think about an event in your local collective. We humbly ask that if you have not yet donated please remember to do so. Every dollar helps. No donation is too small!

If you feel you would like to do a small presentation about the DEVI school at your local meeting or Puja it would really help the school. We are aware that there are still many people who have not heard about this school yet. We have materials that we can send to you that will make this very easy. Please contact us if you would like more information.

It is important for the school that your loving attention continues. It is our priority to make yogis far and wide feel the openness and collectivity that the DEVI school has to offer. This project is a collective effort. It started because there was a desire to create more schools for Shri Mataji's children. It was through Shri Mataji that this school came to us: in November of last year we heard that a former school in Mill Village, Nova Scotia, was for sale at the price of one dollar. Because another potential site for the school was taking our attention at that time, we took a bit of time to see what was being granted to us. But by January of this year we placed a proposal for this school, laying everything at the Lotus Feet of Shri Mataji. Since then we have got to this tremendous point! We ask ourselves, how did this happen? We thank you, Shri Mataji, again and again, for showing us all that in You all things are possible.

Eastern Canada Tour

This coming July the Yuva Shakti are organising a tour of Eastern Canada, that will begin in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Tour participants will help clean up, paint, and organize the school and its grounds. If you would like to get involved in this and/or join the Canadian East Coast tour, please contact Marcel Kuhn at We need many hands to prepare everything for the students. Staff will begin arriving on site at the beginning of August. It will be a very busy time. We would appreciate as much help as possible. Please don't be shy!

Thank you!

We thank you all for your continued support. Without you, this school would not be possible.

We send you all our love and respect.

We pray, Shri Mataji, that this school will open in September, 2017. We pray, Shri Mataji, that any obstacles be removed for this to happen. We surrender everything, Shri Mataji, at your Lotus Feet, and we will carry on with our full hearts in this joyful work, as an offering of Love and Worship to You.
